Frequently Asked Questions

Knoself supports iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. The Watch app is included with the iPhone app. There is currently no web or released Android version.

No. You can start locally without registering. Enable iCloud only when you want to use the same data across your Apple devices.

You can download it and start recording for free. Some advanced features may require a membership; the app shows the current benefits and price before purchase.

Do I need to track every day or every minute?

Section titled “Do I need to track every day or every minute?”

No. Record only the parts that help you understand your time. Missing a period is normal, and you can add a record afterward when useful.

Use the in-app timer for a general start, the Action Button for a physical shortcut, Home Screen tags for frequent activities, Today Reminders for planned tasks, Lock Screen widgets when the phone is locked, Apple Watch when the phone is inconvenient, or Mac while working at a computer. See Choose a Timer Entry.

Records are stored locally by default. With iCloud Sync enabled, they are also stored in your personal iCloud account; the Knoself developer cannot read that private content.

Use Settings → Import & Export → Export Data, select a date range or all data, then choose JSON or ZIP. See iCloud Sync and Data Export.

What should I do if sync or a widget stops updating?

Section titled “What should I do if sync or a widget stops updating?”

Do not uninstall the device that still holds complete data. Check Sync and Widget Troubleshooting and export a backup before making larger changes.

Only permissions needed for a feature you choose: notifications, photos, Calendar, and Apple Health. A feature cannot read the corresponding data when you do not authorize it.

Email support@knoself.com. Include the device, OS version, app version, approximate time, and a screenshot that does not expose private records.
