Knoself is more than just a time-tracking tool; you can think of it as a minimalist “micro-journal.” You won’t have to endure the heavy pressure of logging data; every mechanism here is designed to bring you convenience and comfort.
1. Tracking as Natural as Breathing

We won’t suddenly pop up a cold data summary late at night like background monitoring software (for example, “You spent 3 hours playing games today”) to add unnecessary pressure. We carefully safeguard only the moments you actively choose to keep.
When you want to record, simply tap the ”+” button on the home page to begin. If inspiration strikes midway, tapping the pulsating countdown numbers will instantly take you to the editing page.
How do you build a daily tracking habit? Please remember the core principle: start simple and choose freely. You don’t have to deliver a long essay every single time:
- A quick snap: Don’t want to type? No problem. Take a photo to freeze the light and your mood at that very moment.
- A one-sentence summary: “Just finished my coffee, about to start reading,” or “In a meeting, feeling a bit dull.” Briefly jotting down your action and feeling is more than enough.
- Tap to finish: Stop and save the record once the activity is over. Each span of time becomes a card, quietly resting in your timeline, waiting to reunite with you someday in the future.
Tip: You can set up home screen widgets and lock screen widgets for a more seamless tracking journey.
2. Why Automatically Import Sleep and Exercise?

Because in real life, manually starting a stopwatch to record the exact moment you fall asleep and wake up is counter-intuitive and extremely difficult. Therefore, we let the system do the heavy lifting to remember the hardest data for you—your sleep—so you can reserve all your abundant thoughts and energy entirely for your waking hours.
More importantly: By seamlessly stitching this health data into your time stream, we can objectively analyze your “energy state.” When you notice you’ve only slept 5 hours for three consecutive days, you’ll instantly know that what you need most is to hit the pause button and catch up on sleep, rather than blaming yourself for low efficiency. When you see you haven’t exercised for a week, you’ll understand that your body is actually asking for a little care.
3. Feeling Tired? Rest Without Guilt
Section titled “3. Feeling Tired? Rest Without Guilt”Tools are always meant to serve you; they should never hold you hostage. Tracking time is, ultimately, purely for the sake of making your life better.
If lately, even the thought of pressing the “Record” button makes you feel exhausted or anxious, please do not force it. In Knoself, you can enter the app and switch your status to “Resting”.
This is not laziness; it’s the wisdom of growth. Give yourself permission to pause and peacefully enjoy a stretch of unmeasured, occasional blank time. When your battery is fully recharged and you return with a light heart, Knoself will still be here, gently waiting for your next move.
